Mid-Atlantic Rugby Conference

The MARC D1AA Men 15s Season is well under way. Saint Joseph's is currently sitting in first place with a 3-0 record with West Chester University right behind them with a similar 3-0 record.  Rowan is currently in third followed by Temple, Pittsburgh, IUP and West Virginia.  The race is getting tight at the top as Saint Joseph's and West Chester currently look like favorites but there is still plenty of games left for teams to make up ground. 

Fans should be impressed with the level of play thus far.  There are certainly many candidates that are in contention for the MVP trophy.  For Saint Jospeh's, Noah Niumataiwalu and George Harris have been playing great. Also Mikey Hoffman has been racing in a ton of scores for the Hawks. West Chester's Nick Udovich has been a stud for the Rams and has been voted their man of the match twice this season. The Rams have also been getting some spark from Nick D'Angelo this season.  Out at IUP, Tyler Horwatt and William Gebhart have been putting in work. Horwatt, a prop, leads the team and has set up 5 trys this season.  Gebhart is the teams point leader with 42 (26 in the MARC) and not only should be in contention for MVP but also for Rookie of the Year!  And although West Virginia has not been getting the results they want, Chris Minor has been playing outstanding rugby for them at the full back position. Minor has played every minute for the Mountaineers and not only is he a leader of the team but he is a member of the West Virginia Army National Guard (Thank you for your service!). 

It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season shakes out.  Plenty of rugby to play and some big games ahead. Certainly Saint Joseph's at West Chester will be a featured match on October 18th. Good luck to all teams.  Fans our encouraged to come out and show their love!
