About Us

Bloomsburg University Men's rugby consists of a Fall 15s and Spring 7s along with a 15s team too. We have over 40 members in our program and consistently growing. We have players with rugby experience and players who never touched a rugby ball at all. It is our mission to provide a fun learning environment for new players. Bloomsburg Men's rugby program is growing every year, and look forward to competing in the new MARC alignment.

Bloomsburg University had a tremendous 2017 Fall 15s campaign finishing 6-0 in conference play, and the number one seed. Bloomsburg played Scranton University in the semifinals. Down by three in the opening minutes Bloomsburg rallied and won the game 53-18. In the MARC Championship Bloomsburg faced a strong York College team that also went undefeated in conference play, but did not play each other in the regular season. Bloomsburg was down most of the first half, but rallied to win the MARC Championship with the score 29-12. Winning their first conference title in the club's history.

Bloomsburg Continued to have a great year when it came to Spring 7s in 2018. Bloomsburg went undefeated against MARC play winning all three stops in the MARC leg. Bloomsburg had a point differential of +325 and averaged four tries a game. Mike Appleman was named MVP of the MARC 7s by leading DII in tries, and Nico Disabitino would lead the series in total points. Along with winning the MARC, Bloomsburg clinched a bid to the National 7s Tournament in Colorado. Bloomsburg went 2-1 in pool play and was seeded 6 in the Cup playoffs. Bloomsburg would upset Norwich in a tight matchup 14-12. Bloomsburg would end up losing to the National Champions UNC Charlotte 33-12. However, Bloomsburg would end the season on a high note beating NC State 14-12 to claim 3rd in the country. Marcus Morrison played exceptionally well and because of his hard work was awarded First Team All American For DII. He was Bloomsburg’s only All-American to date.

This season Bloomsburg is under young and new leadership, however has several key starters returning and look to defend their title.
