Preview of the 7's season for all divisions...

The 2018 MARC 7's Series is almost here! The MARC 7's Series will feature three Collegiate Men's Divisions (D1AA, D2, & NSCRO) and two Collegiate Women's Divisions (D2 & NSCRO). Each division will have a number of tournament stops where teams will accumulate points based on results and final tournament standing. At the end of the Series, a Champion will be crowned and bids to Nationals and NSCRO events will be awarded.

Below is a quick preview of each of the divisions. A case can be made for any team to win

COLLEGIATE WOMEN DIVISIONS

D2

The MARC Women's D2 Sevens Series will include two stops. Kutztown and Bloomsburg led the way in the fall 15's season and will hope to translate that success to 7's. Kutztowns Tamyln Cowan and Bloomsburgs Sarah Vancise both had spectular fall seasons and are two players to watch this spring. Rowan and the University of Delaware also had solid seasons so look for them to make a push for the title. And don't count out the rest of the field which includes East Stroudsburg, Saint Joseph's, and Temple.

NSCRO

The MARC Women's NSCRO 7s Series Division should shape up to be a tight contest this spring. Like the Women D2 Division, the NSCRO Division will have two stops on their circuit. The Division includes LaSalle, Lock Haven, Millersville, Scranton, TCNJ, York, and new to the MARC Washington College.  York had an impressive 15's run last fall and Melissa Robertson did well with the MARC NSCRO All Star 7's team this past January. Like Robertson, Randy Livingston of Scranton and Angie Tornetto also had strong showings with the MARC NSCRO All Star 7's team and will look to be impact players for their respective teams this season.

COLLEGIATE MEN DIVISIONS

D1AA

The MARC D1AA Men Division will compete across a three part series. Just about all of the D1AA teams have already seen 7's action this season so this should shape up to be competitive series. Saint Joseph's is gonna be tough with the likes of Jimmy Wolfer and Noah Niumataiwalu leading the way. West Virginia got some early action at the Big 10 tournament and Luke Ellis can be dangerous from anywhere on the field. West Chester stock has been on the rise and will look to cash in this season with a title run. Likewise, Villanova and Pitt have been steadily developing and will look to be in the running this season for the top prize. Temple can go the distance with the likes of the dynamic Oscar Hernandez and Matthew Williams. Rowan had an impressive run last fall after making the jump up last season.  Rowan has a number of play makers but keep an eye on freshman John Dormann who brings a ton of 7's experience from his high school playing days.

D2

The MARC Men D2 7's Series will also compete in a 3 part series. The field includes Bloomsburg, Drexel, East Stroudsburg, Lafayette, Lehigh, Lock Haven, Millersville, Scranton, and York.  Bloomsburg led the way last fall and their Jabari Johnson should be a fun player to watch. York also had a great season last fall and will look to be a contender this spring. Scranton can impress and so can Lafayette who has had a history of playing solid 7's in the spring. And keep an eye on Millersville who also plays some good 7's.

NSCRO

The NSCRO Men 7's Series will be a four part series this spring. This will be another division with a group of teams where it is anyone's guess who will win it.  Susquehanna with the talented Matt Kaltenbach should be a favorite after a strong fall 15's campaign. Bucknell and Neumann should also be considered as teams that could win it as well as Haverford College. Haverford College led by Drew Evans are coming off a 15's Silver Tier Championship win last fall. And Kings College may be the dark horse of the division. After winning the Fall 7's series, Kings College will look to carry that momentum in the spring NSCRO 7's Series. Gavin Gagliardi.
