Haverford College defeated Moravian College 21-7 in a close match for the Silver Tier men's championship.

The first half was a back and forth affair as both teams applied a lot of defensive pressure that prevented much offense. Haverford's kicking game giving an edge in field position. Towards the end of the first half, field position paid off as Zach Broadman powered through defenders to score in the corner giving Haverford 5-0 lead.

At the start of the second half Haverford continued to kick to keep the game in the Moravian side of the field. This led to Haverford's second score as fullback Cesare Meric touched down in the corner following some slick handling in the backline (10-0).

Moravian answered right back through their dominant scrum and hard running forwards to make the game 10-7 after some sustained pressure in the Haverford zone.

Repeated penalties and the boot of Haverford flyhalf Drew Evans kept most of the final period of the game deep in Moravian territory. Haverford's defensive effort and offensive pressure led to numerous kickable penalties. A loose ball from a missed Haverford penalty kick was pounced on by outside center Kieran M-H to make the score 15-7. Two more Haverford penalty kicks by Drew Evans, took the final score to 21-7.  Evans was named the 2017 MARC Silver Tier NSCRO Division MVP for his performance in both the Championship match and throughout the season.
