Mid-Atlantic Rugby Conference

In the MARC D1AA there are two big matches that will determine a home playoff match for the winner. The way the playoffs are set up, the 4 teams from the WEST and the 4 teams from the EAST will all head to the playoffs with quarterfinal/crossover match ups on October 28th. The 1 & 2 from each division will host the 3 & 4 from the opposite division.

The winner of West Chester at Temple and Pittsburgh at West Virginia will determine who will earn the second place seed in their respective division and the right to host a playoff game in the quarterfinals. Both games should be tightly contested and fans are encouraged to attend and rally behind their team.

In the EAST, Rowan University has done a fantastic job going 3-0 and earning all 3 bonus points. New additions, Justin Sangster ('20) of New Zealand and John Dorman ('21) have led the charge for Rowan and currently sit atop the D1AA point leaders.  Both Temple and West Chester are 1-1 and the win this weekend would not only secure a home playoff game but also build some momentum going into the playoffs. Villanova has struggled this season, going 0-3, and will play at Saint Joseph's on October 28th in the first round (quarters) of the playoffs. 

In the WEST, it is Saint Joseph's that is in the driver's seat. They went 2-0 thus far and should have the top seed locked up regardless of the outcome against IUP this weekend. For Saint Joseph's, there has been standout performances by their captain Jimmy Wolfer ('17) and teammate Mike Hoffman ('19) who also sit atop the WEST point standings. IUP is 0-2 thus far and will look to end divisional play on a high note with a win at Saint Joseph's.  Both Pitt and West Virginia are 1-1 and as in the EAST, the match winner will earn a home playoff game in the first round of the playoffs. 

This will be the last weekend of divisional play in the MARC D1AA and the matches surely won't disappoint. Again, fans are encouraged to get out and support their team! Good luck to all teams!!!
