Mid-Atlantic Rugby Conference

On Saturday, April 1st, 8 teams competed in the second stop of the Keystone Rugby Conference 7's Series. The tournament was hosted by West Chester University in Farrell Stadium. By days end, there was a repeat of the Cup final from last week with Saint Joseph's and Temple battling it out again.

In pool A, Saint Joseph's went 3-0 and Millersville went 2-1 to advance to the Cup semifinals while both Pitt and Lock Haven went to the Bowl semifinals. In pool B, Temple finished on top with a 3-0 record after an impressive performance from Oscar Hernandez. West Chester looked good for the home crowd and went 2-1. Both the Owls and Rams went on to the Cup semifinals.  Lock Haven and West Virginia were seeded in the Bowl semifinals after pool play.

In the Bowl bracket, West Virginia edged Pitt 17-14 and Saint Joseph's 2 beat Lock Haven to advance to the Bowl final. In the Bowl final, Saint Joseph's pulled away from West Virginia to win 21-7.

In the Cup bracket, Saint Joseph's would surge in the second half to beat out the hosts West Chester.  Temple set up the Cup final rematch by ousting Millersville. Before the Cup final, both West Chester and Millersville played the 3rd place match with the home team finding their stride and winning the game.  In the Cup final, Saint Joseph's would get the first points on the board from Connor McAuliffe. Temple would answer back but Saint Joseph's would pull away with 33-12 Cup win.

Up next is the third and final stop of the Series at Millersville University on Saturday, April 8th. The 2017 Keystone 7's Champion will be crowned on Saturday and a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophy will be given out. Fans are encouraged to come out and see where their team finishes up and which player will earn MVP honors.
