2016 Keystone Fall 15's All Conference

Keystone names the Fall 15's All Conference players...

The Keystone Rugby Conference is proud to announce the following All Conference players from the fall 2016 15's season. There is a good mixture of upper and underclassmen players on this list. A few standouts include Jimmy Wolfer (Conference MVP)  and Ryan Stickno from Saint Joseph's, Jamil Pollard from Rutgers, Matt Dunleavy from Pittsburgh, Mike Wellstein from Temple, and John King from West Chester. Congrats to all the players named!

2016 Keystone Rugby Conference Fall 15's All Conference Players

Collin Carter – Lock Haven University

Carter came into the Lock Haven program last year as a freshman and immediately made an impact as an 8-man. Collin is a great representation for Lock Haven Rugby.

Zach Cilmi – Villanova University

Cilmi, a freshman, was solid for Villanova in the backline.

Matt Dunleavy – University of Pittsburgh

As a senior, Dunleavy captains the Pittsburgh team and plays inside center. He had a Conference leading 9 tries, and finished second in Conference scoring with 45 points. Vision, ball control and aggressive running lines helped Matt stand out in attack.

Derek Flitcroft -  Rutgers University

Flitcroft, a flanker in his senior year, is from the Morris County HS program. He has been a 3 year starter and has provided leadership for the RU forwards and was always the fittest player on the field. As a hard runner and intense defender that never came off the field, Derek has left a lasting impression on his teammates and coaches and that will be sorely missed.

Aidan Gallagher – Temple University

Gallagher is the starting winger for the Owls. He is an explosive winger. He is difficult to tackle and finds was to turn negative plays positive when ball gets into his hands. His never give up attitude ignites players around him. 

Nick Guida – West Chester University

Guida recently took over the role as outside center, and proved to be quite a force for the Rams. His explosiveness gave our back line a completely different dynamic. 

Oscar Hernandez – Temple University

Hernandez is the starting hooker for the Owls who is a spark plug for the Owls. He is a ball of energy that helps the players around him work harder. 

John King – West Chester University

King was the captain of the Rams team, leading try scorer and his on field presences brought enthusiasm to everyone that followed his leadership.

Eric Lucci – Villanova University

Lucci excelled for Villanova in the forwards.

Jamil Pollard – Rutgers University

Pollard, a junior, has played prop, lock and back row for RU the past 2 years. An immediate starter when he joined the rugby program from the football team, he is a relentless runner and can swing momentum with his huge, memorable hits. He has played through a variety of injuries, but is tough as nails and a gentleman off the field.

Anthony Pugliese – West Chester University

Pugliese is a bull head player who is never shy to make the big hit for West Chester. His confidence on the field was contagious and spread throughout the team whenever he stated his presence.

Connor McAuliffe – Saint Joseph’s University

McAuliffe was part of a speedy back three at Saint Joseph’s and he had multiple games with more than one try.

Noah Nuimataiwalu – Saint Joseph’s University

A freshman at Saint Joseph’s, Nuimataiwalu made an immediate impact at flyhalf for the Hawks and was an integral part to their attack.

Nolan Soto – Rutgers University

Soto, a 2nd year starter at wing, is a speedster who can score from anywhere on the field. He had 5 trys from 50+ meters.  Soto was the leading scorer for RU with 34 points on the season, despite missing some time due to injury. His presence on the field makes a notable difference in RU's attack and everyone at RRFC looking for a big season from Nolan in 2017.

Drew Stauffer – Millersville University

Stauffer plays both lock and loose forward for Millersville. He is a solid player on both sides of the ball, who is willing to do the dirty work for the good of the team. He is also a line out specialist, making the calls from the line and being Millersville's number one jumper.

Ryan Stickno – Saint Joseph’s University

Stickno, a senior, is a combination of size, strength, speed, and finesse for the Hawks. At loose forward, Stickno made his presence felt out on the field, both offensively and defensively.

Chris Sweeney – Rutgers University

Sweeney is a former Union County HS standout, that is the stabilizing force in the RU backfield. He currently is in his junior year and plays center. His hard-charging running and rugged style transformed the RU backline to a more physical unit. His leadership will be integral to the success of RU with the 2016 freshmen moving up next year. 

Mike Wellstein – Temple University

Wellstein is the starting flanker for the Owls who leads by example. When a play needed to be made, Mike found a way to make one happen. He is a true leader. 

Matt Williams – Temple University

Williams is the starting #8 for the Owls. Matt does all of the little things that can be unnoticed. He distributive on defense and has stabilized the Temple set pieces. Matt is a sophomore who only has great things ahead of him at Temple. 

Jimmy Wolfer – Saint Joseph’s University ***CONFERENCE MVP***

Wolfer was a dynamic center for the Hawks all season. He led the conference in total points and with had a stellar performance in the Keystone playoffs which led the Hawks to their first Keystone Conference 15’s Championship.

Justin Young – Saint Joseph’s University

A fifth year senior, Young provided veteran leadership and certainly his best for last. He played flanker with a high work rate and was a key player for the Hawks in set piece and in the loose.

Matt Zebrowski – Saint Joseph’s University

Zebrowski was hooker for the Hawks and provided veteran leadership all season long. He was key component of the set piece for the Hawks.

David Zimmerman – University of Pittsburgh

Zimmerman plays 8 Man for Pittsburgh. In his senior year, he only played in 3 regular season matches due to injury but compiled 5 tries in those contests. He is an aggressive runner and devastating tackler.
