Mid-Atlantic Rugby Conference

The Keystone Rugby Conference wrapped up divisional play this past weekend. Rutgers (EAST) and Saint Joseph's (WEST) both went undefeated in divisional play and secured their respective division titles. 

In the WEST, Millersville got their first win of the season with a 52-29 victory over Lock Haven. In a match that was in jeopardy of being played due to the weather, Saint Joseph's hung on to beat Pitt 28-26 in a close match. And speaking of close matches, in the EAST, Rutgers hung on to win 12-10 against Temple University. In both Rutgers and Saint Joseph's close matches, it was the boot of Mike Nezgoda (Rutgers) and Jimmy Wolfer (SJU) that made the difference. Also in the EAST, West Chester locked up a home quarterfinal match with a 41-8 win over Villanova. Looking a head to the quarterfinal matches on October 15, Pitt will host Temple, Rutgers will host Lock Haven, and West Chester will host Millersville. On October 22, Saint Joseph's will host Villanova because Villanova is on fall break 10/15. After divisional play Alex Goff of the Goff Rugby Report has three Keystone teams ranked nationally, Saint Joseph's (24), Pitt (37), Rutgers (45). To see the article Click Here.  After the quarterfinal matches have concluded, the four winners will head to the Championship Cup round and the four losers will head to the Bowl round during the Keystone Championship Weekend on October 29th & 30th. The Keystone Championship Weekend will be hosted by Temple University at the Ambler campus.

Will there be some surprises? Some upsets? That remains to be seen. Make sure you get out their and support your favorite Keystone team.
