Mid-Atlantic Rugby Conference

After a long summer, the 2016 Keystone Rugby Conference Fall 15's Season is finally here!  Many of the Keystone teams have been training hard the past few weeks and knocking off the rust in preseason exhibition matches. This weekend will be the start of divisional play which will lead to the playoffs later in October. Here is a look at some of the match ups on opening weekend:

In the West...

Lock Haven vs Pitt

Lock Haven focused on 15's last spring and will look for that hard work to pay dividends this season.  Pitt came in second last year and had some tough competition against Penn State and Ohio State in the preseason to get ready for Conference play.

Millersville vs Saint Joseph's

Millersville was busy in the preseason with games against Yale, Kutztown, and Rowan.  Drew Stauffer and the fellas from Lancaster will look to get off on the right foot with new coach Alex Artus.  Saint Joseph's also had a busy preseason playing Kings Point, West Chester, and Temple. The Hawks hope to keep their momentum going, especially during homecoming weekend at Hawk Hill.

In the EAST...

West Chester vs Temple

West Chester and Temple both have good numbers right now giving them plenty of depth and talent to choose from. West Chester did a mixture of 15's and 7's last spring and started the fall with preseason game against Saint Joseph's.  Temple has been getting their guys work early with matches against Maryland and Saint Joseph's. Owls captain Michael Wellstein will look to lead the boys from NE Philly in their home opener.

Rutgers vs Villanova

Rutgers is back and looking to rebound after being off during the fall 2015 15's campaign. They are on the right track with a big win over the University of Delaware in early September.  Villanova has also been solid this preseason with nice wins over Lehigh, UPenn, and Columbia.
