KRC update and weekend preview...

The Keystone Rugby Conference heads into another exciting weekend of competition. Last week in the West Division, James Madison had an impressive win over Millersville. The match between Pittsburgh and Shippensburg was tight at halftime until Pittsburgh ran away with it in the second half, scoring 19 unanswered points. In the East, Villanova had a solid performance against West Chester to secure their first win of the season and the game that was considered the "match of the weekend", Temple vs Rutgers, lived up to expectations. In a close contest, Temple successfully made a late game penalty kick to secure a narrow 18-15 victory over Rutgers.

This week, divisional play continues to heat up. In the East, Villanova will get the weekend started with a "Friday Night Lights" match against Rutgers.  Villanova will look to improve to 2-1 while Rutgers will be looking for their first win. On Saturday, Saint Josephs' will travel to Temple where both teams are 1-0 and looking to take control of the East Division. In the West, Lock Haven look to get their feet wet and will travel out to Pittsburgh who is primed for a good season. Millersville will continue their journey on the road with a game closer to home at Shippensburg and will look to bounce back after a tough loss to James Madison.  Both West Chester in the East and James Madison in the West will have a bye week.

Good luck to all teams this weekend and hopefully everyone stays dry! And be sure to check back with the Keystone Rugby Conference website for the latest scores and results.
