The Pittsburgh Rugby Football Club is one of the premier sporting clubs at the University, and has every intention of retaining such status heading forth. As the team amasses victories and builds a national reputation, the costs of success accumulates. With little institutional assistance, the bulk of field, travel and equipment expenses fall to the hands of the players.
As a collective whole, we humbly ask for your support in the pursuit of our future competitive endeavors. Your contribution will directly serve to fund our operating costs. We are hoping that you will consider making a donation to our team. You may place a donation at any time through the website linked below, or in our yearly letter campaign. All donations will be accepted with immense appreciation.
Giving to the PRFC is simple. The link below directs to the PittGiving portal. Complete fields for name, email address, and year of graduation (optional). Under the "Gift Information" section, type 'Pittsburgh Rugby Football Club' in the box found under the text "Indicate an area or fund not included above that you wish to support:", and put your donation amount in the correlating. If applicable, enter corporate gift matching information. Contact your Human Resources Department to find out if your company matches gifts to Pitt. On the final page, follow the on-screen instructions to provide billing information.
Unlike many other collegiate teams, Pitt Rugby is considered a club sport and therefore receives limited assistance from the University. As a result, we raise much of the club budget ourselves, including field and tournament fees, travel costs, and the maintenance of our team equipment.
One of the aspects of maintaining the team is purchasing new equipment. With a growing team like ours, the game jerseys see a lot of use, being worn in both A-side and B-side games. As a result, we held a crowdfunding campaign to acquire a brand new kit of rugby jerseys for the whole team. Our goal for the project is to raise $2500, to go towards the purchase 22 premium rugby jerseys.
We were more than excited when we quickly reached our goal. We then decided to extend our goal to $4000 to include the cost of 12 jerseys for our sevens team, which we were also very happy to see reached just as fast.
